Today is the big day. The business is officially mine. The two older girls and I are getting ready to run the store ourselves. We’ve kept the employees that worked for the previous owner, but decided we would run things Saturday and Sunday on our own. We’re familiar with the store and how things run. Derek (the former owner) has worked really well with us thus far to show us the ropes, and his sister Amanda was very helpful as well before she moved at the end of August.
We’re really quite anxious, but in a good way. I’m looking forward to it. The contractor, Mark Eastman from Timber Creek Construction is working with an architect from Agora Architecture, and a structural engineer to get our plans for the building set in motion. More later.
